Is Microchanneling the same as Microneedling?

What is Microchanneling?

Microchanneling is the newest non-invasive way to generate collagen and elastin. Small wire-based filaments are used to create controlled micro-injury. By stimulating the top layers of the skin with controlled micro perforations. Unlike microneedling, microchanneling offers a less abrasive experience. The micro-channels created kickstart your body’s natural healing response, leaving your skin less red or inflamed. This will promote collagen production, which helps plump the skin and smooth out unwanted textures and scars.

Why is microchanneling so beneficial?

This popular treatment helps improve skin quality ( even out skin tone, smoother texture, healthier natural glow ), helps reduce the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, pigmentation issues, scarring ( deep wrinkles, acne, surgery scars, stretch marks, or other scars), rosacea, and thinning hair. Scars improve by breaking down old scar tissue while cells work hard to develop healthier new tissue. Results are best when stem cells are incorporated into the treatment. This helps speed up the recovery time and reverse your skin concerns.

Most common concerns people get this treatment for are :

• Fine lines and wrinkles

• Acne scars

• Rosacea

• Anti-aging and skin tightening

• Pigmentation issues ( sun spots, age spots, or melasma)

• Pore reduction

• Stretch marks and surgical scarring

• Creepy skin

• Hair growth | Thinning hair

Why does skin age?

We age, visibly and invisibly daily. Sun damage, internal inflammation, chemicals, and the most commonly known reason, gravity. As we get older, fewer regenerative stem cells survive to repair this constant damage.

What's the difference between microchanneling and microneedling?

There are a couple of differences between the two. Microchanneling tips are designed to stamp the skin, where microneedling is more of a dragging motion. The dragging method could tear the skin causing more inflammation. As stated above wire-based filaments are used with a microchannel device to create a less abrasive and irritation to the skin. Microchanneling device delivers linear stamping technique, creating consistent microchannels. What does that mean? Less downtime, less inflammation, less discomfort, and faster healing. Depending on the tip depth, microchanneling typically has a downtime of 90 minutes to 24 hours.
